Foreign Divorce Decree Cannot Shield Husband from Bigamy Proceedings in India: Supreme Court
The Supreme Court has ruled that a foreign divorce decree obtained on the ground of irretrievable breakdown of marriage cannot automatically dissolve a Hindu marriage solemnised in India.
