Woman Fined ₹20K for Casually Filing Sexual Assault Case Against Live-In Partner: Delhi High Court

The Delhi High Court has quashed an FIR filed by a woman against her live-in partner for sexual assault, observing that such serious allegations under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 cannot be made casually. The Court, while delivering the verdict in the case of ANIL VERMA v. THE STATE GOVT OF NCT OF DELHI & ANR, also imposed a cost of ₹20,000 on the complainant for misusing the legal process.…
