PF and ESPP Deductions Cannot Reduce Maintenance Liability; Child Maintenance Enhanced to ₹1.5 Lakh: Supreme Court
The Supreme Court has enhanced the monthly maintenance payable for two minor children from ₹1.25 lakh to ₹1.50 lakh in the case of Harpreet Sawhney v. Puneet Sharma. The Court also increased the maintenance payable to their mother from ₹20,000 to ₹30,000 per month, particularly after considering her medical expenses.
