The Allahabad High Court has acquitted Shahrukh and Hasnera alias Shabana in the murder of Naeem, setting aside their life sentences. The judgment was delivered on 22 September 2026 in Criminal Appeal No. 11672 of 2025 and Jail Appeal No. 112 of 2026. Naeem, aged about 40, was found dead near Pawan brick kiln on 1 January 2023.
